It is bordered by Old Tuscaloosa Highway (U.S. 11) to the northwest and Norfolk Southern Railroad to the southeast. The former Trinity Steel site is a 27 acre parcel of land uniquely located just west of I-65 on the outskirts of both Downtown Birmingham and the UAB Campus. The property is owned by Jefferson County Economic and Industrial Development Authority. The site is currently zoned for heavy industrial use; however, the master plan for redevelopment calls for a mixed use development with potential for office and retail uses.
